Deskripsi Alternatif :

This project is about an analysis of translation phrasal verbs in the novel The Fault in Our Stars written by John Green. Phrasal verbs cannot be translated literally or word by word. This project was conducted to find out the types of phrasal verbs used, to identify the translation strategies, and to measure the quality of accuracy and acceptability of translation in the novel. This project was using qualitative method. In analyzing the types of phrasal verbs, the project was using theory by Brizee (2010), in analyzing the translation strategies, the project was using the theory by Baker (1992), and to measure the quality of translation, the project was using theory by Nababan, Nuraeni and Sumardiono (2012). The result shows there are 35 (70%) intransitive phrasal verbs, 13 (26%) transitive separable, and 2 (4%) transitive inseparable phrasal verbs. Translating phrasal verbs by paraphrasing is the most used in this project. In addition, the phrasal verbs were translated accurately and the result is acceptable.
