Validasi metode dilakukan dengan merujuk pada SNI 17025 Tahun 2008 yang meliputi parameter Linieritas, Akurasi, Presisi, Limit Deteksi dan Limit Kuantitasi. Validasi metode dilakukan pada penentuan kadar tembaga dengan menggunakan alat Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAS) dan Microwave Plasma Atomic Emission Spectrophotometer (MP AES). Prinsip kerja AAS yaitu mengukur absorbansi dari atom netral pada saat tereksitasi sedangkan MP AES mengukur intensitas pada saat atom netral kembali ke tingkatan dasar (emisi). Tembaga merupakan salah satu unsur yang terdapat dalam bijih sulfida. Penentuan tembaga iini menggunakan penambahan pereaksi HF, HClO4 dan HNO3. Pada validasi metode menggunakan alat AAS didapatkan linieritas dengan nilai koefisien korelasi 0.9988, akurasi dengan % perolehan kembali sebesar 91.25 %, keterulangan dengan % RSD sebesar 3.21 %, presisi antara dengan % RSD sebesar 2.67 %, limit deteksi 5.7 ppb dan limit kuantitasi 19 ppb. Sedangkan validasi metode dengan menggunakan MP AES didapatkan linieritas dengan nilai koefisien korelasi 0.9999, akurasi dengan % perolehan kembali sebesar 97.47%, keterulangan dengan % RSD sebesar 0.43 %, presisi antara dengan % RSD sebesar 3.04 %, limit deteksi 2.4 ppb dan nilai kuantitasi 8 ppb. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan metode penentuan tembaga dikatakan absah(valid) dan menghasilkan nilai rata-rata yang berbeda signifikan antara penggunaan AAS dan MP AES. Method validation performed according to SNI 17025 - 2008 which includes parameters Linearity, Accuracy, Precision, Limit of Quantitation and Limit of Detection. Method validation performed on the determination of copper by used an Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAS) and Microwave Plasma Atomic Emission Spectrophotometer (MP AES). AAS measured the absorbance of neutral atoms in an excited moment while the MP AES measured the intensity of neutral atoms upon returning to base levels (emission). Copper is one of the elements that contained in sulfide ore. Determination method of copper used HF, HClO4 and HNO3. In the method validation used AAS obtained linearity with a regression value was 0.9988, accuracy with % recovery was 91.25 %, repeatability with % RSD was 3.21 %, intermediate precision with % RSD was 2.67 %, Limit of Detection was 5.7 ppb and Limit of Quantification was 19 ppb. While the validation methods used AES MP obtained linearity with a regression value was 0.9999, accuracy with % Recovery was 97.47%, repeatability with % RSD was 0.43 %, intermediate precision with % RSD was 3.04 %, Limit of Detection was 2.4 ppb and Limit of Quantitation was 8 ppb. So it can be concluded that determination method of copper was valid and mean value was different significantlly by used AAS and MP AES.
