Kelapa muda biasanya disajikan secara alami dengan bentuk kerucut dibagian atasnya. Proses pembentukan kelapa muda ini sudah dilakukan di kalangan masyarakat dengan cara manual yaitu menggunakan sebilah parang untuk mengupasnya. Proses ini memiliki resiko kecelakan kerja yang tinggi. Kelapa muda yang dihasilkan dari proses pengupasan ini memiliki bentuk yang kurang menarik dan sulit untuk dibuka. Maka perlu dibuat suatu alat yang dapat meminimalisir kecelakaan kerja, serta dapat mempermudah proses pengupasan kelapa muda. Alat yang akan dibuat ini menggunakan sistem mekanik untuk penekan tuas pengarah pisau dan menggunakan motor listrik yang ditransmisikan mengunakan v-belt dan pulley sebagai penggerak putarannya. Hasil percobaan uji fungsi terhadap alat pengupas kulit kelapa muda menunjukkan bahwa alat tersebut sudah berfungsi dengan baik, tetapi terdapat beberapa kekurangan seperti hasil pemotongan kulit kelapa bagian samping kurang rapih serta kesulitan ketika memotong kulit kelapa bagian bawah dan membuat pelubang sedotan. Oleh karena itu, alat tersebut masih memerlukan perbaikan dan pengembangan lebih lanjut untuk dapat digunakan industri kecil dalam proses pengupasan kulit kelapa.

Deskripsi Alternatif :

Young coconuts are usually served naturally with a cone shape at the top. The process of making young coconuts has traditionally been done in society by manually peeling it with a machete. This process has a high risk of workplace accidents. The young coconut produced from the peel process has a less attractive shape and is difficult to open. So a device needs to be made to facilitate and ease the process of peeling young coconuts. This Device will be made using a mechanical system for pressing knife contolling grip. and using an electric motor that is transmitted using a v-belt and pulley as cycle drive. The results of the functional test on the young coconut husk peeling machine showed that it has worked properly, but there are still several weaknesses such as the final cutting of the back side of the coconut husk is less tidy and it has a difficulty in cutting the lower side of coconut and making a straw hole .Therefore, this machine still needs further improvement and development to be used for small industries in coconut husk peeling process.
