Busur api listrik (Arc flash) merupakan kondisi pelepasan energi akibat terjadinya hubung singkat melalui udara yang terionisasi. Proteksi terhadap bahaya arc flash perlu ditentukan, karena jika arc flash tidak ditanggulangi, maka kemungkinan terburuk adalah terjadinya ledakan (arc blast) akibat arc flash yang dapat mengganggu keselamatan jiwa dan kestabilan sistem tenaga listrik. Analisis arc flash ini dimaksudkan untuk menentukan jarak aman dari titik busur pada panel tegangan menengah 6 kV. Selain mempertimbangkan spesifikasi teknis dari panel, dalam proses perhitungan ini membutuhkan informasi tentang arus hubung singkat. Setelah diketahui arus hubung singkatnya kemudian ditentukan incident energy akibat arc flash. Hasil perhitungan diperoleh incident energy yang relatif besar, yaitu: 4,794 J/cm2. Dengan besar incident energy tersebut, maka jarak aman adalah sejauh 871,5 mm dari panel. Kata kunci: Busur api, hubung singkat, incident energy, jarak aman.

Arc flash is a condition of energy release due to a short circuit through ionized air. Protection against the danger of arc flash needs to be determined, because if the arc flash is not tackled then the worst possibility is the explosion due to arc flash (arc blast) which can interfere with the safety of life and stability of the electric power system. This arc flash analysis is intended to determine the safe distance from the arc point on the 6 kV medium voltage panel. In addition to considering the technical specifications of the panel, in this calculation process requires information about the short circuit current. After the short circuit current is known then the incident energy is determined due to arc flash. The calculation results obtained a relatively large, which is 4,794 J/cm2 and the safe distance is 871.53 mm from the panel Keywords: arc flash, short circuit, incident energy, safe distance limit.
