Cooling Tunnel adalah salah satu sistem refrigerasi komersial yang biasa dimanfaatkan oleh industri sebagai alat untuk mendinginkan makanan atau minuman, salah satunya susu. Tujuan dari rancang bangun ini adalah untuk mendinginkan susu pasca pasteurisasi. Pasteurisasi bertujuan membunuh organisme merugikan seperti bakteri dan protozoa dengan cara proses pemanasan pada makanan atau minuman hingga mencapai 61⁰C Sistem ini menggunakan sistem kompresi uap dengan kapasitas kompresor 0.69 kW dengan temperatur evaporasi -5⁰C dan beban pendinginan sebesar 0.49 kW dimana kabin didinginkan mencapai temperatur 0⁰C dengan chilling time 60 menit dan temperatur produk mencapai 5⁰C. Efisiensi perancangan mencapai 70%, sedangkan efisiensi hasil pengujian mencapai 79%. Kata kunci: Cooling Tunnel, Chilling Time, Efisiensi.

Cooling Tunnel is one of refrigeration commercial system which usually used by industries as a tool to store foods or drinks, one of them is milk. In this application, the cooling machine is used in the industry in order to rapidly decrease product temperature. The purpose of this design is for cooling the post-pasteurized milk. Pasteurization aims to kill harmful organisms such as bacteria and protozoa by heating the food or drink to 61⁰C. Which uses a vapor compression system with a compressor capacity of 0.69 kW with an evaporation temperature of -5⁰C and a cooling load of 0.49 kW where the cabin is cooled to temperature of 0⁰C with chilling time of 60 minutes and the product temperature reaches 5⁰C. The design efficiency was reached 70%, while the efficiency of the test results was reached 79%. Keywords: Cooling Tunnel, Chilling Time, Efficiency.
