Tes tertulis SMB (Seleksi Mahasiswa Baru) Politeknik Negeri Bandung (Polban) merupakan satu-satunya instrumen pengukuran kelulusan calon mahasiswa Polban. Kualitas soal menjadi hal yang sangat penting. Untuk mengetahui hal tersebut, dilakukan "Analisis soal Seleksi Mahasiswa Baru (SMB) tahun ajaran 2008/2009" dengan tujuan mengetahui validitas soal Bahasa Indonesia dan Matematika yang diujikan. Mengingat soal tertulis merupakan instrumen satu-satunya, perlu diketahui apakah soal yang diuji sudah memenuhi kualitas (seperti tingkat kesuburan, daya beda, dan keterbacaan teks soal) atau tidak. Dalam penelitian, digunakan metode deksriptif dengan analisis butir soal klasik. Dari hasil penelitian, diketahui bahwa validitas dan keterbacaan soal Bahasa Indonesia dan Matematika SMB tersebut cukup tinggi.

Deskripsi Alternatif :

The written test of SMB Politeknik Negeri Bandung (a test used for selecting prospective students of Polban) is the only instrument for measuring the quality of the prospective students in order to be acepted at this institutions. There for the quality of the test items become very important. Analisis Soal Seleksi Mahasiswa Baru (SMB) Polban Tahun Ajaran 2008/2009 (An Analysis on test items of the SMB Politeknik Negeri Bandung for Academic Year 2008/2009) was carried out to measure the validity of test items of Bahasa Indonesia and Mathematics, involving the deficulty level, power diferences, and readability. Descriptive method and classical analysis of test items were used in this research. From the research results, it is known that the quality of the test items of Bahasa Indonesia and Mathematics and there readability are quite high.
