Pengukuran TKT penelitian merupakan kewajiban setiap peneliti terkait pendanaan yang diberikan. TKT pendidikan menjadi salah satu bidang teknologi bersama-sama bidang sosial dan humaniora dari 8 bidang teknologi yang diukur dalam setiap kegiatan riset kompetitif nasional. Proses pengukuran TKT pendidikan melibatkan maksimum 43 butir indikator dalam 9 level TKT untuk nantinya dapat dikatagorikan sebagai penelitian dasar, terapan dan pengembangan. Proses pengukuran TKT dimulai dengan memahami setiap butir indikator dalam 9 level TKT, lalu berbasis dokumen-dokumen relevan segera dilakukan pemetaan secara kuantitatif seluruh tipe kegiatan R&D, baik yang telah dan akan dilaksanakan, baik yang dilakukan oleh peneliti terkait dan peneliti yang lain, kepada setiap butir indikator TKT penelitian pendidikan. Dimulai dari level TKT paling rendah, dilakukan perata-rataan skor level TKT berbasis tiap skor butir indikator level TKT terkait. Hanya dengan capaian rerata skor minimal 80%, yang menjadi acuan penetapan level TKT sebagai produk akhir pengukuran.

Measurement of research TKT is the obligation of every researcher regarding the funding provided. Education TKT is one of the technology fields together with the social and humanities fields from 8 technology fields that are measured in every national competitive research activity. The process of measuring TKT in education involves a maximum of 43 indicator items in 9 TKT levels which can later be categorized as basic, applied and development research. The initial stage of measuring TKT begins with understanding each indicator item in the 9 TKT levels, then based on relevant documents, quantitative mapping of all types of R&D activities, both those that have been and will be carried out, have been done by researchers themselves and other researchers, to each TKT indicator item for educational research.
