The Comparison of Effectivenes, Efficiency and Capability between the Newton, Langrage, Hamilton, and Hamilton-Jacoby's Methods in Formulating the Equation of Motion

Penelitian ini membahas tentang komparasi perumusan persamaan gerak dengan metode Newton, metode Lagrange, metode Hamilton dan metode Hamilton Jacoby. Penelitian dilakukan dengan menerapkan keempat metode pada satu kasus yang sama dalam tiga tipe berbeda, yaitu gerak gabungan (translasi dan rotasi oleh benda berbeda), gerak menggelinding dan getaran harmonis. Observasi dan analisa dilakukan pada cara kerja dan tahapan-tahapan perumusan tiap metode untuk memperoleh gambaran tingkat efektivitas, efisiensi dan keampuhannya. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui efektivitas dan efisiensi setiap metode jika diterapkan pada kasus setipe dan untuk mengetahui keampuhan setiap metode dalam menyelesaikan semua kasus. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) tingkat efektivitas tertinggi dimiliki oleh metode Hamilton, setingkat dengan metode Lagrange, (2) tingkat efisiensi tertinggi dimiliki oleh metode Hamilton dan (3) metode Hamilton-Jacoby merupakan metode perumusan persamaan gerak dengan tingkat efektivitas, tingkat efisiensi dan tingkat keampuhan paling rendah dibanding metode lainnya.

Deskripsi Alternatif :

This research attempts to elaborate the comparison of the motion equation formulation within 4 methods, i.e. Newton, Lagrange, Hamilton and Hamilton Jacoby. Three different cases are involved in applying the four methods. These cases are among others about the motion of alliance, rolling motion and harmonic oscillations. Observation and analysis have been carried out at every formulating level for each method to obtain general view of effectiveness and efficiency as well as capability. The purpose of this research is to identify the capability of each method in overcoming the cases. The result showed that (1) The Hamilton Method has the highest level of effectiveness, which has the same level as that of Lagrange, (2) The Hamilton Method has the highest level of efficiency, and (3) The Hamilton Jacoby has the lowest level of effectivity, efficiency and capability
