Dengan berkembang pesatnya Internet of Things, menarik untuk membahas bagaimana modulasi data yang terjadi pada proyek-proyek berbasis IOT. Modulasi Frequency Shift Keying salah satu teknik modulasi yang banyak digunakan pada beragai proyek-proyek telemetri berbasis IOT. Sudah terdapat berbagai penelitian mengenai FSK yang membahas mengenai FSK jenis hard-keying, dimana sinyal informasi digital secara langsung dimodulasikan tanpa proses apapun. Pada FSK jenis hard-keying, baseband memiliki lebar pita yang sangat lebar. Untuk mengatasi masalah lebar pita dari baseband, maka dikembangkan metoda lain dari FSK, yaitu dengan metoda soft-keying. Pada FSK soft-keying, informasi akan melalui sebuah low-pass filter untuk mempersempit lebar pita. Tugas akhir ini difokuskan pada perancangan dan implementasi modulator FSK berjenis soft-keying pada perangkat transmiter yang mempunyai kecepatan transfer data sebesar 9600 bauds. Setelah melalui low-pass filter, informasi akan dimodulasikan menggunakan FSK. Melalui perancangan dan realisasi didapatkan perangkat modulator FSK soft-keying berbasis filter Sallen Key orde 4 sebagai low-pass filter dan IC NE555 sebagai modulator FSK. Dari hasil pengukuran modulator FSK soft-keying yang telah direalisasikan, low-pass filter bekerja pada frekuensi cutoff 4.66kHz dan modulator FSK bekerja pada frekuensi tengah 117.6kHz dengan deviasi frekuensi maksimal sebesar

With the rapid growth of the Internet of Things, it is interesting to discuss how data modulation occurs in IoT-based projects. Frequency Shift Keying modulation is a modulation technique that is widely used in various IOT-based telemetry projects. There have been various studies on FSK that discuss hard-keying FSK, where digital information is directly modulated without any process. In hard-keying FSK, the baseband has wide very bandwidth. To overcome this bandwidth problem, other method of FSK has been developed, i.e. soft-keying FSK. In soft-keying FSK, information will pass through a low-pass filter to reduce bandwidth. This final project is focused on the design and implementation of soft-keying FSK modulator on transmitter devices that have a data transfer speed of 9600 bauds. After going through a low-pass filter, the information will be modulated using FSK. Through design and realization, the FSK soft-keying modulator based on Sallen Key 4th order as a low-pass filter and IC NE555 as FSK modulator. From the measurement of soft-keying FSK modulator that has been realizized, its low-pass filter have cuttoff frequency of 4.65kHz and the FSK modulator has a center frequency of 117.6kHz and maximum frequency deviation of 51kHz.
