Setiap tahun, puluhan mahasiswa Departemen Teknik Komputer khususnya mereka yang sedang menempuh semester akhir mengerjakan Tugas Akhir sebagai salah satu prasyarat kelulusan. Hasil akhir dari pelaksanaan Tugas Akhir berupa dokumen laporan Tugas Akhir. Dokumen laporan Tugas Akhir dari tahun-tahun sebelumnya yang dikumpulkan di pihak Departemen Teknik Komputer dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai referensi bagi mahasiswa tingkat akhir tahun selanjutnya. Dikarenakan tidak semua judul Tugas Akhir menggambarkan isi dari Tugas Akhir tersebut, maka diperlukan sebuah teknik untuk memperoleh dan mengelompokkan dokumen dengan isi yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan serta mampu memunculkan beberapa topik yang saling berkaitan pada dokumen Tugas Akhir. Dengan adanya masalah tersebut maka dibutuhkan metode untuk pengelompokkan dokumen berdasarkan kedekatan topik antar dokumen, salah satunya adalah metode RPLSA (Robust Probabilistic Latent Semantic Analysis). Metode RPLSA (Robust Probabilistic Latent Semantic Analysis) memudahkan mahasiswa mendapatkan dokumen laporan Tugas Akhir yang mendekati dengan topik yang dicarinya. Eksperimen menggunakan 10 dokumen laporan Tugas Akhir Departemen Teknik Komputer dan Informatika Politeknik Negeri Bandung. Berdasarkan hasil dan pembahasan yang diperoleh, maka dapat disimpulkan dapat memberikan hasil yang relevan. Namun untuk kata kunci majemuk yang terdiri dari dua kata atau lebih, metoda ini menghasilkan dokumen yang kurang relevan. Hal ini disebabkan karena perhitungan untuk penentuan ranking dokumen dilakukan per kata dan melihat frekuensi dari kata kunci yang diinputkan. Jadi, diperlukan eksplorasi lebih lanjut untuk perankingan dokumen. Kata Kunci: sistem pencarian, dokumen laporan TA, Robust Probabilistic Latent Semantic Analysis, topik, ranking.

Deskripsi Alternatif :

Every year, dozens of students of Computer Engineering and Informatics Department of Bandung State Polytechnic, especially those who are in the final semester, have to work on a final project as a graduation prerequisite. One outcome of the final project is a document. The Final project documents were collected in the Computer Engineering and Informatics Department. These documents can be used as a reference by the subsequent student to determine their final project topics. Because not all of the title describes the content of the final project document, a technique to classify documents by contents that suits their needs is required. This problem requires a method for grouping documents based on documents topics proximity, one of such method is RPLSA (Robust Probabilistic Latent Semantic Analysis). RPLSA (Robust Probabilistic Latent Semantic Analysis) method facilitates students to get final report documents that close to the topic they are searching for. The experiment used ten final project report documents taken from Computer Engineering and Informatics Bandung State Polytechnic Department collection. The experiments showed that the document retrieval system has provided relevant results for single word keyword. But for the composite of two or more words, this method produced less relevant documents. This was caused by the fact that the calculations for determining the ranking of documents is done by word and count the frequency of the keywords entered.
