Kendali otomatis dua tanki terhubung yang berisi cairan dalam kendali dinamis orde dua yang menyebabkan respon sistem lebih lamban dibanding sistem single tank, sehingga diperlukan pengendalian agar proses mencapai target yang diinginkan. Tujuan penelitian ini, mengimplementasikan pengendalian plant coupled tank dengan metode PID agar diperoleh respon yang cepat dan error steady state yang kecil. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan eksperimental, dengan membuat model sistem kendali level air pada coupled tank. Pembacaan level air menggunakan sensor ultrasonik. Perangkat kontroler menggunakan PLC dengan pemrograman ladder diagram. Luaran dari PLC berupa besaran tegangan yang diubah menjadi PWM melalui mikrokontroler. Driver menggunakan MOSFET untuk mengatur tegangan pada pompa sesuai besaran sinyal PWM. Sehingga kecepatan putaran pompa berbanding dengan perubahan level air pada tanki. Hasil penelitian, sistem kendali PID pada coupled tank mampu bekerja sesuai rancangan dan mengontrol kestabilan level air dengan set point 10 cm pada tanki kedua, dengan parameter nilai Kp = 6.25, Ti = 35 dan Td = 8.75. Hasil pengujian PID tersebut saat plant diganggu dengan perubahan rasio katup beban, respon sistem mencapai steady state di 10 cm atau error steady state 0 %. Automatic control of two connected tanks filled with liquid in second order dynamic control which causes the system response to be slower than a single tank system, so control is needed so that the process reaches the desired target. The purpose of this research is to implement plant coupled tank control with the PID method in order to obtain a fast response and small steady state error. The research method uses an experimental approach, by modeling a water level control system in a coupled tank. Water level reading using ultrasonic sensor. The controller device uses a PLC with ladder diagram programming. The output of the PLC is in the form of a voltage which is converted into PWM via a microcontroller. The driver uses a MOSFET to adjust the pump voltage according to the PWM signal. So that the pump rotation speed is proportional to the change in the water level in the tank. The results showed that the PID control system on the coupled tank was able to work according to the design and control the stability of the water level with a set point of 10 cm in the second tank, with parameter values of Kp = 6.25, Ti = 35 and Td = 8.75. The results of the PID test when the plant is disturbed by changes in the load valve ratio, the system response reaches a steady state at 10 cm or a steady state error of 0%.
