Intelligent Transportation System (ITS), One of the Solutions to Decrease Travel Time in Urban Area

One of the method to manage traffic in urban space by applying ITS, the area modeled by two-fluid model, a macroscopic modeling technique which provides characteristics of the performance of traffic flow on an urban road network. The model does this by generating a relationship between trip time, stop time and running time per km. Here, we take SCBD (Sudirman Central Business District) Jakarta, Indonesia as a study area, where it is unsignalized confined area. Then the area modeled in scaner studio simulator. I use IAV (Intelligent Autonomous Vehicle) and conventional vehicle as two different kind of vehicle that will be compared in the simulator. The result shows that the use of IAV in urban environment can improve traffic management since it has shorter time than the use of conventional vehicle. With its ability to reconfigure itself if there is a fault, it has no impact with any other vehicle behind and congestion can be avoided.
