Konsumsi tahu terus meningkat tiap tahunnya. Pada proses produksinya dihasilkan air limbah tahu yang berpotensi mencemari lingkungan karena mengandung BOD sebesar 6.000 - 8.000 mg/L dan COD sebesar 7.500 - 14.000 mg/L. Pada penelitian Tugas Akhir ini dilakukan proses seeding pada pengolahan air limbah tahu menggunakan Anaerobic Sequencing Batch Reactor (ASBR). Kelebihan metode ini, yaitu mampu menghemat biaya karena tidak diperlukannya clarifier dalam mengembalikan sebagian mikroorganisme yang terbawa pada aliran efluen, seperti yang terjadi pada metode lumpur aktif konvensional. Tujuan dari penelitian ini, yaitu mengoperasikan proses seeding dalam pengolahan air limbah tahu menggunakan ASBR, ditinjau dari parameter pH, COD, MLVSS, dan produksi biogas. Selama waktu operasi, pH masih bersifat asam, hal ini menandakan pH tahapan metanogenesis belum diperoleh. Proses seeding sudah dapat menurunkan kadar pencemar COD walaupun masih fluktuatif dan sudah dapat menghasilkan biogas. Ditinjau dari nilai MLVSS, proses seeding belum berhasil dikarenakan kurangnya asupan nutrisi mikroorganisme selama kurun waktu seeding.
Deskripsi Alternatif :Consumption of tofu continues to increase every year. In the production process, tofu wastewater is produced which has the potential to pollute the environment because it contains BOD of 6,000 - 8,000 mg/L and COD of 7,500 - 14,000 mg/L. In this final project, a seeding process was carried out on tofu wastewater treatment using the Anaerobic Sequencing Batch Reactor (ASBR). The advantage of this method is that it is able to save costs because there is no need for a clarifier to restore some of the microorganisms carried in the effluent flow, as is the case with the conventional activated sludge method. The purpose of this Final Project is to operate the seeding process in tofu wastewater treatment using ASBR, in terms of pH, COD, MLVSS, and biogas production parameters. During the operation time, the pH was still acidic, this indicated that the pH for the methanogenesis stage had not been obtained. The seeding process had been able to reduce COD pollutant levels although it was still fluctuating and could produce biogas. However, from the MLVSS value, the seeding process had not been successful due to the lack of nutrient intake by microorganisms during the seeding period.
