Ghost stories are often talked by a lot of people around the world, including in Indonesia (Pharino et al., 2018). Sometimes the stories are also related to some places. Those places are often called a haunted place. In Indonesia, sometimes, the places are associated with tourism spots that are associated with ghosts and deaths. This phenomenon is also called as Ghost Tourism (Holzausher, 2015). Dark tourism is a term used in a place where there are death and misfortune that occurred in that place (Podoshen, 2013). Even though the place gave a dread atmosphere, still, many people came to those places and wanted to feel the experience of the place (Isaac & Cakmac, 2016). This research is conducted to distinguish tourist's motivation to visit the dark spots in Bandung and what kind of experience they have. This research is using a qualitative approach by interviewing 15 participants that visit dark sites. The dark sites are located in three places; Goa Jepang, Goa Belanda, and Bandung Medical Center Hospital, or simply known as BMC Hospital. The data analysis used by this research is inductive thematic analysis. The findings of this research are divided into three themes: The experience of ghost tourism, the motivation to visit dark tourism, and future visitation to dark spots. From this research, it can be hinted that dark tourism's experience is formed by the emotion in ghost tourism, action in dark tourism, and thoughts about dark tourism. From this research, it can be hinted that tourists motivation visiting these places because of curiosity and exploration. While this research shows an unforgetable experience for everyone who visit those places.
