Penggunaan timbal sebagai bahan aditif pada bahan bakar kendaraan bermotor telah meningkatkan emisi timbal ke udara. Sebagai salah satu tempat yang sering dilalui kendaraan bermotor, Terminal Cicaheum Bandung diperkirakan telah terkontaminasi oleh logam berat timbal. Identifikasi pencemaran dilakukan melalui pengukuran kadar timbal pada daun tanaman yang tumbuh di taman yang berlokasi di dalam Terminal Cicaheum Bandung. Bagian daun dipilih karena diperkirakan akumulasi timbal paling banyak terjadi pada bagian tersebut. Adapun tiga jenis tanaman yang terdiri dari Mirabilis jalapa L (bunga pukul empat), mahoni dan cemara diambil pada tiga titik pengambilan sampel. Penentuan kadar timbal pada daun dilakukan dengan metode destruksi kering yang secara garis besar terdiri dari pengabuan dengan menggunakan tanur (furnace), pelarutan dengan HNO3 pekat dan pengukuran dengan SSA (Spektrofotometer Serapan Atom) tipe flame pada panjang gelombang 217,0 nm. Berdasarkan hasil pengukuran, kadar timbal yang berhasil diserap oleh daun Mirabilis jalapa L berkisar antara 9,12 ppm hingga 14,71 ppm dan kadar timbal yang terukur pada daun mahoni sebesar 8,77 hingga 13,97 ppm. Sementara itu, kadar timbal yang terukur pada daun cemara berada pada rentang 4,89 ppm hingga 7,77 ppm. Secara keseluruhan, kadar timbal yang terukur telah melewati angka 2 µg/Nm3 (2,36x10-4 ppm) yang merupakan nilai ambang batas timbal di udara. Kadar timbal dalam daun yang telah melebihi nilai ambang batas tersebut menunjukkan bahwa Terminal Cicaheum Bandung telah tercemar oleh logam berat timbal. Deskripsi Alternatif :Use of lead as an additive in motor vehicle fuels has increased the emissions of lead into the air. As one of the place that is frequently traveled by motor vehicle, Terminal Cicaheum Bandung estimated to have been contaminated by heavy metal lead. Identification of pollution was done by the measurement of lead levels in the leaves of plants which grow in the garden of Terminal Cicaheum Bandung. The leaf was chosen because the accumulation of lead is estimated to occur most commonly in this part. The three types of plants which consists of Mirabilis jalapa L, mahogany and pine were taken at three sampling points. Determination of lead content in the leaves was done with dry destuction methode which consists of several stages of process that broadly consists of ashing by using the furnace, dissolving in HNO3 and measurement by using AAS (Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer) at a wavelength of 217,0 nm. According to the measurement result, lead content in Mirabilis jalapa L leaves are ranged from 9,12 ppm to 14,71 ppm while the lead content absorbed in mahogany leaves are detected from 8,77 to 13,97 ppm. In the other hand, lead content in pine leaves are between 4,89 ppm to 7,77 ppm. Overall, measurable levels of lead in plants has passed 2 µg/Nm3 (2,36×10-4 ppm) which is the threshold value of lead in air. Lead levels in leaves which have exceeded the threshold value indicates that the Terminal Cicaheum Bandung has been contaminated by heavy metal lead.
