This study was aimed at describing the profile of the faculty member competence quality assurer in doing their academic job. The study indicates that through intellectual, personal, and social competences possessed by the faculty members, the characteristic of faculty member are: 1) leadership, 2) professionalism, 3) attitudes, 4) human relation skill, 5) mastery of the science or expertise in their field, and 6) mastery of the university teaching and research methods. For this reason, the implementation of the development system of faculty member in an education process is an advantage and a creativity competitive power of higher education institution, professionalism empowerment, motivation, commitment, and accountability. For faculty members, the implementation of this program will raise sense of autonomy in knowledge development so that will strengthen and rebuild the image of higher education institution.
