This final project is about the making of English subtitle for TVRI documentary films aired on "Indonesia Membangun" programme. Most of these films have been uploaded to YouTube. For this project, two documentary films were selected which show interesting innovation by Indonesians in preserving the environment and developing self-sufficiency. They are "Rekayasa Air Got" and "Mandiri Pangan dan Energi". The aim of making the English subtitle is to provide lexical information so that international viewers could understand the information presented in the films. The process of making the subtitle consists of four main stages. They are collecting data, translating, adding subtitle to films, and packaging. Collecting data includes watching and selecting the films continued by transcribing the film. Next is translating that includes rewatching and understanding the content of the selected films and translating process. The third stage involves adding the subtitle to the films and editing process. The last stage is packaging involving copying the film onto disk and making the CD label. The problems occurred relate to translating and subtitling process. The results of this final project is the two selected films have had English subtitles.
