Phrasal verbs are one of the language features that are usually used by native speakers. They look simple, yet hard to be learned by EFL students since the meanings sometimes are not in line with the root words. Therefore, this study of analysis might be helpful. The present study aims (1) to find out how many types of phrasal verbs used in a bestseller autobiography book entitled A Street Cat Named Bob, (2) to identify the most types of phrasal verbs used in the autobiography book, and (3) to analyze the meanings of the rarely used phrasal verbs in the autobiography book. There are three types of phrasal verbs found using the Azar’s theory (2003). Those are separable, non-separable, and three-word phrasal verbs. After all the data have been analyzed using qualitative method, the result has shown that there are 929 phrasal verbs found. Non-separable is the dominating type of phrasal verbs with 71.3% occurrences, following by separable phrasal verb with 24.3%. Three-word phrasal verb is the least type of phrasal verbs which appears with only 4.4% in this autobiography book. This study also creates the list of rarely used phrasal verbs based on the results.
