This final project entitled An Analysis of Reiteration Lexical Cohesion on a Novel Entitled Homesick: My Own Story by Jean Fritz. It analyzes reiteration lexical cohesion on a novel entitled Homesick: My Own Story by Jean Fritz using Halliday and Hasan's theory (1976). The aims of this analysis are: the first is to identify the types of reiteration lexical cohesion used in the novel Homesick: My Own Story by Jean Fritz, the second is to find out the frequency of each type of reiteration lexical cohesion found in the novel, and the third is to find out the most and the least reiteration lexical cohesion types found in the novel. Qualitative method was used in conducting this project. In collecting the data, the reiteration in the novel were identified and recorded in Microsoft Excel according to the types of reiteration. In analyzing the data, the types of reiteration in the novel were analyzed based on the theory of Halliday and Hasan (1976). The results of the analysis showed that five reiteration types i.e. repetition, synonymy, antonymy, hyponymy and meronymy were found in the novel. From the analysis, it could be concluded that repetition is the most reiteration type used by Jean Fritz, while hyponymy is the least reiteration type used. There are some purposes of the writer in using reiteration on her novel. The purposes are to help her readers to easily follow the story and to understand more about the situation that happened in the story. In addition, the use of reiteration is to avoid saturation in using vocabulary. Keywords: Reiteration, Lexical cohesion, Novel, Homesick: My Own Story, Jean Fritz.
