One of the effort to increase productivity of urea fertilizer can be done by modify the products in Slow Release of Fertilizer (SRF). One of the natural mineral which can be used as SRF matrix is the natural zeolit, this natural material has been chosen because of its too much found in Indonesia and it has edge characteristics to be used as the SRF matrix material. The zeolit edge characteristic including the broad open space, be polar, smooth relatively of space measurement between 4-7 A°, and its have ion change capacity. In this reserach used the natural zeolit from the Malang area, and urea raw material which have been used by the products from PT Petrochemical Gresik. The preparation and characterization of zeolit raw material to be used in this research have been done by four treatment variations, there were without activation, physical activation, acid activation, and basa activation. Physical activation with warming temperature of 250°C during 3 hours and 500°C during 4 hours. Acid activation used H2SO4 0,2 N which has been continued by temperature warming 250°C about 3 hours, and be warming at temperature of 500°C for about 4 hours. Both in the Indonesia National Standards (SNI) about urea have not yet in the scope of SRF, so that for the next to be considered to formulate of SNI about SRF, which based on the standard development of Indonesia Technical Committee Memento is through 65-06 Indonesia Technical Committee: Chemical Products and Agrochemical Products which have ICS (the International Classification Standard) 65.080 about Fertilizer, which have relation with the International Technical Committee: International Organization for Standardization/Technical Committee ISO/TC 134, Fertilizer and soil conditioners, with scope of fertilizer and soil conditioner, the material with used to increased nutrition and soil characteristic.
