Salah satu upaya dalam meningkatkan kinerja sistem dan menurunkan konsumsi energi adalah dengan melalui kegiatan konservasi energi. Kegiatan konservasi energi melalui sistem pengkondisian udara dapat dilakukan melalui setting temperatur ruang. Kapasitas AC digunakan dalam melakukan pengamatan pengaruh setting temperatur ruang terhadap kinerja AC split dengan tiga kapasitas yaitu, 1 PK, 1,5 PK dan 2 PK. Metode pengkajian kinerja Air Conditioning (AC) meliputi perhitungan detail COP (Coeficient of Performance) dan efek refrigerasi yang ditinjau dari fluida eksternal yaitu udara. Penurunan temperatur setting dari 25 oC ke 17 oC menyebabkan penurunan konsumsi energi, peningkatan efek refrigerasi dan peningkatan COP. Pada kapasitas AC 1 PK diperoleh penurunan konsumsi energi dari setting temperatur 25 oC ke 17 oC sebesar 37,13 %, kenaikan efek refrigerasi sebesar 9,34% dan kenaikan COP sebesar 38,14%. Untuk kapasitas AC 1,5 PK diperoleh penurunan konsumsi energi sebesar 38,59%, kenaikan efek refrigerasi sebesar 7,72% dan kenaikan COP sebesar 43,26%. Dan untuk kapasitas AC 2 PK diperoleh penurunan konsumsi energi sebesar 42,78%, kenaikan efekrefrigerasi sebesar 9,65% dan kenaikan COP sebesar 43,2%. Deskripsi Alternatif :

An effort to improve performance system and reduce energy consumption is through energy conservation. Energy conservation through the air conditioning system can be done by setting the room temperature. Capacity of Air Conditioning used in observing is 1 PK, 1,5 PK and 2 PK. Method of assessment of Air Conditioning performance is details calculation of COP (Coeficient of Performance) and refrigeration effect in term of external fluid (air). Lowering of setting temperature from 25oC to 17 oC, decrease of consumption energy, increase the refrigeration effect and increase the COP. On 1 PK capacity of Air Conditioning from setting temperature 25 oC to 17 oC is obtained 37,13% decreasing of energy consumption, increasing of refrigeration effect as big as 9,34% and increasing COP as big as 38,14%. For 1,5 PK capacity of Air Conditioning is obtained 38,59% decreasing of energy consumption, increasing of refrigeration effect as big as 7,72% and increasing COP as big as 43,26%. And for 2 PK capacity of Air Conditioning is obtained 42,78% decreasing of energy consumption, increasing of refrigeration effect as big as 9,65% and increasing COP as big as 43,2%.
