The emerging of the economic globalization to form a new environment business must be faced by companies. New business environments are characterized by consumers controlling the market, the increase of competition, and the rapid as well as continuous changes. The maintenance of quality can increase profits by using two methods: 1) by increasing the demand of consumer and 2) by decreasing the cost. In the competitive market, the increase of demand and the decrease the cost show the differences between the life of business and the development of the company. The quality cost can be divided into four categories: maintenance cost, evaluation cost, internal failure cost and external failure cost. There are three methods can be used to estimate the hidden cost. They are double method. market research, and loss function of Taguchi quality.
