This project is entitled "The Forgotten Sundanese Dances". It is about the three Sundanese dances which has been rarely performed. This project aims to inform the readers about the existence of traditional Sundanese dances. The methods used are library study, interview and observation. This book consists of the information of the history and functions of the dance. It is also completed with original pictures of the dance motions and the costumes worn by the dancers. As most of the information are informative, the writing styles used are informative and descriptive for describing the characters in every mask in topeng Cirebon. The dances chosen are from the tradition in certain societies. They are Tari Tayub, Tari Topeng Cirebon and Tari Wayang. Since they are traditional dances, the written information about them are very rare. They are also rarely performed. The available books about traditional dances can be counted and they usually inform the famous dances like Tari Jaipongan. Many people do not know tradition dances well. This condition is worsen by the rare performances of the dances. People do not know their own culture like traditional dances well because of the rare sources either in the form of a book or in the form of live source that is performances. According to those problems, making this book is one of the efforts in reintroducing them to people especially teenagers. The history of the dance tells them the story and the reason why those traditions have been changed into dances. The functions of the dance is to inform us the event the dances usually used. The motions describe how to dance in every motion of the dance and the last is the costumes. They show the list of costumes usually worn by the dancers. Therefore, this book is written to complete a lack of sources and to help to develop traditional dances. Keywords: Traditional dance, Sundanese, tradition.
