The Influence of Push and Pull Motivation toward Satisfaction and Behavioral Intention: A Study on Tourism Attraction in Lembang

This study aims to analyze push and pull motivation of tourists and its effect on satisfaction and behavioral intention. Motivation is important to examine because this is an important thing for tourist that affected by push and pull factors. Both factors in motivation can be a consideration for governments and managers to increase the attractiveness. The object of this study is man-made tourism in Lembang, including: Farmhouse, De'Ranch, and Kota Mini Lembang. Quantitative methods were used in this study with the entire population of tourists who visited Farmhouse, De'Ranch, and Kota Mini Lembang with 333 respondents. This study used exploratory factor analysis using SPSS 18 to form a new dimension or factor. SEM-PLS was conducted to examine the effect of the variables studied, and Multi-group analysis to compare motivation between Bandung and outside Bandung using WarPLS 6.0 software. The result showed four new factors of push motivation and three new factors of pull motivation. Push motivation influences satisfaction by 16%, while 46% pull motivation influence affects to satisfaction. Satisfaction has a strong influence on behavioral intention that is 56%. Motivation of each tourist based on their origin is significantly different.
