Penurunan kualitas air dapat disebabkan oleh adanya bahan anorganik yaitu logam berat, seperti timah (Sn) dan antimon (Sb). Menurut persyaratan AAMI (Association For The Advancement Of Medical Instrumentation) kandungan logam antimon (Sb) memiliki nilai ambang batas sebesar 0,006 ppm, sedangkan menurut Kep. 51/MenLH/10/1995 golongan II kandungan logam timah (Sn) memiliki nilai ambang batas sebesar 3 ppm. Pada penelitian ini dilakukan penentuan limit deteksi kandungan antimon (Sb) dan timah (Sn), maka dilakukan pengukuran menggunakan AAS-VGA untuk antimon (Sb) dan menggunakan ICP untuk timah (Sn). Hasil penentuan limit deteksi merupakan nilai batas terendah konsentrasi suatu logam dalam matriks sampel yang dapat terukur jika digunakan instrumen atau metode analisis tertentu. Penentuan ini meliputi pengujian linieritas, IDL (Instrument Detection Limit) dan MDL (Method Detection Limit) yang berdasarkan Standard Method For Examination Of Water And Waste Water 21th Edition, 2005. Hasil dari penelitian yaitu untuk logam antimon (Sb) diperoleh linearitas nilai koefisien korelasi dengan cara statistik sebesar 0,9995; nilai IDL sebesar 0,18 ppb; dan nilai MDL sebesar 0,40 ppb. Sedangkan logam timah (Sn) diperoleh dari linearitas nilai koefisien korelasi dengan cara statistik sebesar 0,9997; nilai IDL sebesar 0,10 ppm; dan nilai MDL sebesar 0,26 ppm. Hasil penelitian untuk kedua logam memenuhi syarat karena dibawah nilai ambang batas tersebut diatas. Kata kunci : Logam Antimon (Sb), Logam Timah (Sn), AAS-VGA, ICP, Penentuan Limit Deteksi.
Deskripsi Alternatif :Water quality degradation can be caused by the presence of inorganic material that is heavy metal such as tin (Sn) and antimony (Sb). According to the requirements of AAMI (Association For The Advancement Of Medical Instrumentation) the metal content of antimony (Sb) has a threshold value of 0.006 ppm, while according to Kep. 51/MenLH/10/1995 group II metal content of tin (Sn) has a threshold value of 3 ppm.
In this research determination of detection limit is content of antimony (Sb) and tin (Sn), then measurements were taken using the AAS-VGA for antimony (Sb) and using the ICP for tin (Sn). The results determination of detection limit is the lowest limit of the concentration a metal in the sample matrix that can be measured if the use of certain instruments or methods of analysis. This determination include the testing of linearity, IDL (Instrument Detection Limit) and MDL (Method Detection Limit) is based on Standard Methods For Examination Of Water And Waste Water 21th Edition, 2005.
The results of the research is to the metal antimony (Sb) obtained linearity with a correlation coefficient of 0.9995 statistical manner; IDL value of 0.18 ppb, and the MDL of 0.40 ppb. While tin (Sn) were obtained from linearity with a correlation coefficient of 0.9997 statistical manner; IDL value of 0.10 ppm, and the MDL of 0.26 ppm.
The results for both metals qualify as below the threshold value of the above.
