This project, 'A Mini Encyclopedia of 20 National Heroes of Indonesia' is written for children or students aged 12 to 14 to make them interested in learning history and at the same time to encourage them to learn English. It is to introduce the national heroes of Indonesia to children and foster a sense of children nationalism to their country, Indonesia. It can also be used to introduce the national heroes of Indonesia to children from other countries. The method used in making this project is library study. The theories which are used in this project are the elements of encyclopedia, writing technique, and language style. This mini encyclopedia contains information of 20 national heroes. It is about their life stories, their involvement in war, their achievement, the official recognition from the Indonesian government for their contributions, and the quotation from those heroes or the quotation which can describe their stories, or struggle, or characteristics. In addition, the mini encyclopedia also gives glossary of several cultural words and uncommon words for children. The mini encyclopedia that has been made has already fulfilled the gaps. It is arranged in Indonesian alphabetical order, completed by good pictures, interesting illustrations and colorful layout. The contents are written in English in short texts but in detail and clear. This mini encyclopedia can be a useful encyclopedia to introduce the Indonesian national heroes to the Indonesian and foreign children.
