Currently, the trend of buying secondhand clothes is developing in several countries, including Indonesia. Even though it is a trend, buying secondhand fashion products also has risks. One of the most worrying risk factors in buying secondhand fashion product is sanitary risk. In addition to sanitary risk, secondhand fashion products also have other risk factors such as functionality, aesthetics, and social risks. With these risks, some consumers are worried about some of the losses that may be experienced when buying or using secondhand clothes. Based on this phenomenon, this research was conducted to determine the level of risk perception of secondhand clothes consumers. This study also aims to determine the ideal thrift shop criteria perceived by consumers In this study, there were 266 secondhand clothes consumers in West Java who became the research sample. The research was conducted using quantitative and qualitative methods. The data obtained were then analyzed using SPSS. The results of this study indicate that the sanitary risk is the risk factor that consumers are most concerned about. Consumers assume that generally secondhand clothing products have a poor level of hygiene. This causes consumers to worry about being exposed to viruses or diseases if they use secondhand fashion products. The results of this study also indicate that the aesthetic and functional aspects of the product are a relative risk in the consumption of secondhand fashion products. In addition, the results of the study also show that the social aspect is not a risk factor that is worried by consumers of secondhand clothing products. Related to this context, the results of qualitative analysis show that the ideal thrift shop criteria for consumers is a thrift shop that sells clean, quality products, and offers a wide variety of products Keywords: Consumer's perceived risk, Consumer behavior, Secondhand product, Fashion market, Product Attitude.
