Intervention to Bring Environmental Knowledge into Grocery Shopping Behavior: A Study on Zero Waste Retail Receptive Consumer

This research conducted a general attitude-behavior model in the direction of shopping at retailers engaging in zero waste concept (ZWC) from the influence of personal-related factors. Consumers in West Java, Indonesia who are open to the zero waste idea but who have never bought at retailers who apply the concept of zero waste and participants were surveyed using a questionnare. The suggested model was put to the test empirically with a total of 426 participants applying PLS -SEM. A consumer's propensity to shop at stores that adhere to the zero-waste principle was found to be affected directly by their environmental literacy. Two personal-related factors (environmental concern and green self-identity) had indirect effects on behavior via attitude towards shopping at retailers practicing zero waste concept. The study is provide an understanding of consumer behavior concerning sustainable retail from internal prespectives. Practical implications are also provided for marketing and management grocery retailers.
