Study on Integration of Acupuncture Traditional Medication in National Healthcare System

Akupuntur, awalnya dikenal sebagai pengobatan tradisional China, telah menjadi salah satu pengobatan tradisional populer di Indonesia. Sebagian besar pasien terapi menyatakan kondisi fisik mereka lebih bugar dan segar pasca-akupuntur, tetapi belum ada penjelasan ilmiah. Penelitian ini mengamati efek tersebut pada kondisi naracoba sehat dan migrain dengan titik pengukuran bagian hemisphere kiri (P3) dan kanan (P4). Titik akupuntur yang digunakan adalah 7 titik yang dikenal sebagai 2-3-2, yang berfungsi menetralkan disfungsi tubuh manusia. Titik tersebut adalah 2 titik Tien Ie kiri dan kanan, 3 titik Tien Su kiri dan kanan dan Kuan Yu pada perut, dan 2 titik Tsu San Lie kiri dan kanan. Sinyal EEG dianalisis menggunakan metoda spectrogram untuk mengamati perubahan spektral daya dalam domain waktu dan frekuensi pada gelombang otak, yaitu delta, theta, alpha dan beta, serta metoda wavelet untuk mengamati pola regularitas pasca akupuntur. Hasil analisis spectrogram menunjukan bahwa pada naracoba sehat terjadi perubahan gelombang pasca-akupuntur dari gelombang Alpha ke Delta yang mengindikasikan naracoba mengalami tidur nyenyak sedangkan untuk naracoba migrain tidak terjadi perubahan gelombang. Pasca-akupuntur spektral daya cenderung menurun dan spektral pada hemisphere kiri dan kanan mendekati sama. Hasil analisis wavelet dapat menunjukan saat jarum akupuntur ditusukan.

Acupuncture, originally known as traditional Chinese medicine, has became one of the popular traditional medication in Indonesia. Most of the patients expressed therapeutic effect of acupuncture on physical condition, but there are many scientific explanation that have not been revealed. This study quantifies the effects of acupuncture on the signal of electroencephalogram of 3 volunteer, with measurement point of the left-hemisphere (P3) and right (P4). The needles of acupuncture was placed on 7 acupoint, known as 2-3-2 technique, which serve to neutralize the dysfunction of the human body. Its points are 2 points of the left and right Tien Ie, 3 points of the left and right Tien Su and Kuan Yu in the stomach, and 2 points of the left and right Tsu San Lie. EEG signal was quantify using Spectrogram to observe the changing of the power spectral in the time and frequency domain from the brain-wave : delta, theta, alpha and beta; wavelet used to observe the regularity of the signal. The result of investigation showed that brain-wave of normal subject has changed after acupuncture that was indicate the subject deep-sleep, and otherwise for migraine subject. After acupuncture, power spectral tends to decrease and power spectral of left and right hemisphere tend to equal. An Analysis of wavelet transform showed timing the needle was inserted.
