Sistem proteksi adalah sistem yang sangat berpengaruh pada kelistrikan. Terutama pada sebuah sistem kelistrikan yang memiliki karakteristik beban dan jaringan yang berbeda. Namun seringkali terjadi kesalahan pada koordinasi sistem proteksi yang menyebabkan gangguan meluas. Salah satu upaya untuk mencegah permasalahan tersebut yaitu perlu menentukan nilai setting relai yang sesuai pada Overcurrrent relay pada penyulang yang menjadi konsentrasi utama pada sebuah sistem proteksi distribusi, dimana relay ini dapat mendeteksi arus gangguan untuk kemudian memisahkan gangguan tersebut dari sistem. Metode yang digunakan untuk menganalisa koordinasi proteksi berdasarkan besarnya arus dan arah arus gangguan dapat menggunakan Electric Transient Analysis Program (ETAP). Dengan simulasi menggunakan Electric Transient Analysis Program (ETAP) yang menyerupai jaringan di lapangan, kesalahan koordinasi sistem proteksi dapat diminimalisir sehingga gangguan tidak meluas dan sesuai dengan syarat sistem proteksi yaitu andal, sensitif, dan selektif.

Deskripsi Alternatif :

The protection system is an important system on electricity. Especially on an electrical system that has different load and network. However, an error on the protection system coordination often occur which causes widespread disturbance. One of the means to prevent these problems is to determine the appropriate value of the relay setting on the Overcurrent relay on the feeder, which is the main concentration in the distribution protection system. This relay is able to detect fault current and then separate the disturbance from the system. The method used for analysing the protection coordinate based on magnitude of the current and the direction of the fault current is the Electric Transient Analysis Program (ETAP). With the simulation that uses Electric Transient Analysis Program (ETAP) which resembles a network in the field, the coordination errors of protection system can be minimize so that the disturbance does not spread and is in accordance with the requirements of the protection system, namely reliable, sensitive, and selective.
